Welcome, Organisation, Instructions

  • First class meeting date on Campus:

  • Bring your own laptops.
  • The final assignment is a project work. The final tasks will be given in May.
  • General task: You have to asseand program an autonomous robot starting from simple going to sophisticated!
  • :!: REQUIREMENTS TO PASS THE FINAL ASSIGNMENT:
    The robot has to be functional with some interesting capabilities!
  • This course is practical and lab-oriented.
    :!: Attendance is compulsory! We will check attendance!
  • Each student must join a group in Moodle with 1, 2 or 3 students per group.
  • Due date for submitting your final assignment is DAY
  • Discord is the main communication platform for this course. Please join the E&E Discord Server and follow the relevant channels.
  • We will use the Discord audio/video channel for discussions, too.
  • Some course material will be provided on GitHub (link).
  • We partly use the Wiki on teawiki.net to share further course related information (link).

I would like to design an applied robotics course for ROS2. It is for an electrical engineering program, 4. semester. 
The students have no previous knowledge in robotics. The course comprises 12 meetings with 3 hours each. 
The course should comprise intoduction to ROS2 and simulation with Gazebo. 
Furthermore the students have to assemble, program and use a physical 4 wheeled robot. 
The robot is based on NVIDIA Jetson for computer vision and equipped with a lidar for SLAM.
